Privacy policy

The app collects nothing. This website collects one thing, and only if you give it: an email address for the waitlist.

The app

PageMask has no account and no cloud. Your scans, redactions, vault files and the text of anything you ask it to explain stay on your iPhone. We do not receive them, and we cannot see them. The app has no analytics, no crash reporting, no ads and no tracking of any kind.

Buying Pro goes through the App Store. Apple handles the payment and tells the app whether you own Pro. We do not get your name, card or Apple ID. Apple's own privacy policy covers what Apple does with purchase data.

If you share a file out of the app, it goes where you send it, through the iOS share sheet. That is your choice each time, and the app does not keep a record of it.

This website

The site sets no cookies, loads no scripts from other companies, and uses no analytics, fonts or embeds from anyone else. Every file comes from our own server.

Like any web server, the host may keep short-lived technical logs (for example your IP address and the page you asked for) to keep the site running and to spot abuse. We do not use them to build profiles, and we do not link them to waitlist emails.

The waitlist

  • What we collect: the email address you type in. Nothing else, and no tracking fields.
  • Why: to email you when the beta opens and when the app is released. We will not use it for anything else and we will not sell it or share it.
  • Where it is kept: in a small database we run for this purpose. Only the owner can read it.
  • How long: until the launch announcement has been sent, then we delete the list, or sooner if you ask.
  • Deleting it: write to the support address (not set up yet, it will be listed here before launch) from the address you signed up with and ask us to remove it. We will confirm once it is gone.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you (for the waitlist, that is one email address), ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Because we hold so little, the answer to the first question is short.

Children

The waitlist is for adults. If you believe a child has given us an email address, tell us and we will delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date. If a change affects what the app collects, we will say so in the app and in the release notes.
